In the summer you can drive directly over the Zillertal High Road (toll road) directly in front of the hut. Nearby is the Kaltenbacher ski lodge with the Zillertal Murmelland - a paradise for children with a large playground and animals, which can be caressed. The marmots are very rare. Furthermore there are wonderful hiking trails in the Zillertal mountain world. Numerous huts can be reached from these paths: Kristallhütte, Wedelhütte, Hirschbichlalm, ...

Fresh cakes for breakfast can be ordered at the Kaltenbacher Skihütte. A really fine dinner can be enjoyed at the Platzlalm - pre-booking necessary, 10 minutes of walking time are to be included.
